Banbridge Community Regeneration Limited was established in
2001 to focus on the economic development, community development and regeneration
of Banbridge Town Centre.
The company is represented by day traders, night traders, local business
and
community groups as well as councillors, council officers and PSNI. They
are tasked with driving the new economy that is envisaged for the town
centre and with upgrading town centre facilities to achieve this. The
result of these efforts can be seen in:
- new and improved facilities,
- a more attractive environment,
- new developments,
- increased inward investment,
- an increase in visitor numbers and
- the introduction of more quality high street stores and independent
retailers.
All will bring new life to the town centre.
Town Centre Manager
A Town Centre Manager is working to co-ordinate the many parties and processes
involved, and to oversee the town centre management strategy (including
a significant marketing budget to attract investors, new residents and
visitors).
The Town Centre manager will establish an economically productive,
culturally vibrant and environmentally sustainable town centre. In turn
this
will reduce dereliction, increase urban regeneration, enhance the environment
and increase promotion. Of equal importance is the requirement to improve
communication and networking with all stakeholders and increase exploitation
of funding opportunities.
