Over the next few months and years there will be an ongoing programme of development in and around the town centre as it is upgraded to meet the vision of Banbridge District Council and Banbridge Community Regeneration Limited. This will be enhanced by the plans to develope Bridgewater Park on the outskirts of the town and Gilford Mill in nearby Gilford. Together the town centre and the new developments will attract ever-increasing numbers of visitors.

Our objective – as spelt out in our Mission Statement – is to improve the
area for businesses, visitors, residents, shoppers and retailers alike, by creating a more attractive and prosperous environment.

This will be achieved through three core categories:

Public Spaces
To continue to improve the ambience and accessibility of the town centre by further development of  civic space for pedestrians to enjoy. This will ensure that the town centre is a usable space which is as safe as it can be during day and night.

Roads & Parking
To ensure that there is free-flowing traffic in the town centre and
ample and accessible parking facilities for all, including less able
shoppers.

Buildings
Banbridge is a very attractive town with 2, 3 and 4 storey buildings
lining the main street. With a rich variety of building facades there are tremendous opportunities for the private sector to create a more attractive retail / residential area.
